Is Lucky Dog Resort a good fit for my dog?

Lucky Dog Resort is a highly social model of care where dogs interact with each other, in a home-like atmosphere, during their entire stay.  Lucky Dog is the best fit for dogs with a successful history of socializing with other dogs.  We are happy to discuss your dog’s temperament and history with you prior to booking, so we can all make an informed decision!

What are your hours and when are pick-up and drop-off times?

Our hours of operation are:

Monday – Friday  7:00 AM-6:00 PM

Saturdays  8 AM – 5 PM

Sundays  9 AM – 4 PM

Pick-Ups and Drop-off’s for Boarding and Daycare occur by appointment, to ensure adequate staffing for optimal dog introductions.  If you need to change your time, we ask you to please call or email us, so we can amend the daily schedule.  Thank you.


Meet ‘n Greet

Lucky Dog strongly recommends scheduling a Meet ‘n Greet prior to your dog’s stay,  to establish their comfort and compatibility with our social model of care.  Meet ‘n Greets are one hour, drop-off appointments designed to allow your dog to explore, meet the staff, and get a feel for what his visit with us will be like.  After the hour is up, we invite you to tour the facility and ask any questions you may have.


At any time during his stay, should your dog display consistent, stress related behaviors around other dogs, we will transfer him to a Luxury Suite.  Suites are individual rooms that are climate controlled and have state of the art air filtration and UV sanitizing technology, all designed to keep your pup healthy and happy.  They also have chandeliers and tempered glass doors, for the discerning dog.


Drop-offs for our Daycare Program, The Lucky Dog Social Club:

Daycare Drop-off Appointments can occur anytime during regular business hours.  Please note your drop-off and pick-up times in your reservation.

 Half-Day rates are applicable for visits of 4 hours or less per day.

 Full-Day rates are applicable for visits of 4.5 to 8 hours per day.

 After Hours Daycare is $20 per hour until 8 PM.  If you cannot pick up your dog by 8 PM, we will be happy to accommodate him overnight for an additional fee of $75.



Drop-off Appointments for Overnight Boarding stays are from 7:00 AM to 3 PM.

Pick-up Appointments  are from 7:00 AM to Noon, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to Noon on Saturdays and Sundays .

*Please note, Resort checkout time is 12 PM.  Checkouts after noon will incur a daycare fee of $33.

Drop-offs and Pick-Ups are done by appointment and must be noted in your reservation.  Any changes must be conveyed ahead of time, via an amendment to your online booking, or a call or text to 401-835-0680.  Thank you.


Why do you require the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine?

Lucky Dog Resort requires the Bordetella vaccine to protect all of our guests.  Canine Bordetella is a highly contagious upper respiratory condition, also known as kennel cough and more recently, canine infectious tracheobronchitis.  Canine Bordetella is spread from dog to dog. It is often passed when there is a high amount of dogs in one contained area, such as with boarding kennels, shelters, obedience classes, dog parks and dog day care facilities.  While the canine Bordetella vaccine is highly effective, it does not totally prevent your dog from contracting the illness. Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered to stay at Lucky Dog Resort?

Lucky Dog Resort is a highly social model of care.  As such, we require dogs to be spayed/neutered.  We have found, (both in practical experience and in  scientific literature), the dynamic of a group of dogs tends to change when an unaltered dog enters. Therefore, in order to reduce risk to your dog and others, we are currently only accepting dogs who have been spayed/neutered. We will make exceptions for puppies under 6 months of age, provided females are not in estrus (heat).  


What should I bring for my dog’s stay?

Food:  Please bring enough of your dog’s food for his entire stay. More is always better, just in case your dog’s stay is extended.

 Your Pup’s Personal Items:  You are welcome to bring his blanket/bed.  We request you provide him with a coat or jacket during the winter months.  All items must be machine washable (in case of accidents or muddy play).  Please do not bring toys, bowls or any treats or bones that will take your dog time to eat.  Dogs are together at all times so we do not allow items that could provoke possessive or aggressive behaviors.  Lucky Dog is not responsible for any personal property brought with your dog.

 Medications:  must be in their original prescription container(s), and clearly labeled with your dog’s name, dosage, and administration directions.

 Leash and Collar with Identification Tags:  (please include rabies tag if possible).  All collars are removed upon entry to the facility, to help promote safety during dog interactions.

 You are welcome to bring your dog’s crate if he/she enjoys spending time in it for naps or nighttime sleep.  Please inform us ahead of time if you’d like to do so.


My dog recently had an illness, infection or procedure.  Can he stay at Lucky Dog Resort?

We would love to host your dog! Please call or email us to discuss whether Lucky Dog Resort’s atmosphere is appropriate for your dog’s specific situation. Dogs must have a clean bill of health from their veterinarian post illness, infection or procedure.


My dog has special needs?  Can she stay at Lucky Dog Resort?

Please call or email us to discuss whether Lucky Dog Resort is the right for him/her.


My dog is on medication.  Will you administer?

We are happy to administer your dog’s oral or topical medication.  Please note, there is a $10 admistration fee per stay.  Please make sure medications are in their original prescription bottle, clearly labeled with your dog’s name, dosage, and administration directions.



What’s your cancellation policy?

Standard bookings (excluding ‘Prime Bookings’) require a 25% deposit and cancellations must be made at least 3 days before the reserved drop-off date in order for your deposit to be eligible for a refund.


Prime Bookings, (any reservations occurring within one week before or after Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Eve/Day) require payment in full at the time of reservation.  Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the reserved drop-off date in order for your reservation to be eligible for a refund.  *Please note, gift certificates are not applicable to Prime Bookings.

Lucky Dog is a highly social model of care.  In order to maintain the safest possible environment for all dogs, we can only accept guests who are spayed/neutered, unless under 6 months old.  Females must not be in estrus (heat).  Thank you for your understanding.


Please note, all guests must be current on the following vaccinations (Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, Bordetella) and have had a fecal screening within the past year, with negative results.  Documentation must be uploaded to their profile at the time of their reservation.
